Trump Urges NATO to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Amid Global Oil Concerns
The US President Donald Trump is pressuring NATO allies to help open the Strait of Hormuz, because this blockade by Iran is impacting the global economy and oil supply. While Trump is asking NATO to secure the oil supply without any disruptions, Germany and Britain are opposing the call by saying that NATO is a defensive pact and it should not be involved in any kind of war. Another major problem is that most of the countries do not have modern technology to remove mines. Iran is using suicide drones and fast boats and due to that allies are hesitant to join a high-risk escort mission without a clear legal basis or an exit strategy, despite the growing damage to the global economy.
